Minimum Effort Nigiri

There are a ton of videos about the right way to make nigiri, so I’m not going to talk about it in here. In this post you’ll learn how to make nigiri the “wrong way,” but it’ll be easier and still very delicious! It’s so simple, I’ve just created a quick diagram for it

Step 1: Make a compact ball of rice. There’s no “right size”. If you’ve seen sushi, you know how big nigiri are. Don’t worry about it too much.

Step 2: Cut a thin slice of fish and place on the ball**

Step 3: Firmly squeeze the fish and rice together with your hand. You’ll get that elongated nigiri shape, and you’re done!

**I’m not going to explain the “right way” to slice fish for nigiri. If you can get a thin slice of fish, you’re good.
